Some new friends invited us over for an Ethiopian Christmas celebration tonight! It was a really good time. And after being pretty much stuck in the house with 7 kids since Wednesday afternoon due to another storm and wind chills down to -40, it was great to get out. I hope we make it an annual tradition, or better yet, much more often.
Kiddos group shot...
Injera purchased from an Ethiopian restaurant, which we enjoyed with home made Dora Wat and salads.
The kids eating downstairs. Some had injera, some had chicken strips.
A mention...my Ethiopian kiddos really don't care very much for injera or dora wat or any spicy food. If you have Ethiopian kiddos you may think this is crazy, since they've only been home 9 months. But even while we were in ET, they didn't want to order it. And when we were first home. Wonder if they ate other foods? Not sure. They can't seem to tell me. Maybe I'll quiz Svanna on it tomorrow. A mystery!
Beautiful (and yummy) cake for dessert...

Tye and his new buddy...

Thanks, again for the invite, Doug and Lisa! Hope we can get together again, soon.
Oh, and yes, after we got home I unplugged the remaining Christmas lights. Welcome 2010!
