This past weekend, Svanna and I had the pleasure of attending a mother/daughter Equine Adventure at a Christian camp. What a wonderful weekend! Last year I took Sierra, and the year before I took Shianne. It's a great one on one time. Plus time with other moms and other girls.
The scenery was beautiful. But not as breathtaking as years previous because of the drought. Lots of prayers going up that our streams and rivers will be full by next Spring.
Beautiful horses...
Beautiful horses, beautiful girl...
It was quite the cold weekend. But remarkably, we still had a fabulous time and weren't too cold. When we got there Saturday morning we put off riding for a bit because it was only 27 degrees. One of the things we did was make a Thankfulness Tree. I LOVE this idea and hope to do it with our family for the month of November. Just some sticks in a big ole mason jar. Some pretty paper cut and punched sitting nearby in a basket. When you think of something you're thankful for, you just write it down and hang it on the "tree." A good reminder of how immeasurably blessed we are.
A couple Saturdays ago was Tye's last football game. This has been his first year of football. He's been biting at the bit to play football since Kindergarten when we moved here. He LOVES football, in case you hadn't guessed. They had a good season, too.
Here he's running 50+ yards for a touchdown!! Woo hoo, go number 21!!!
The coaches really "coached." They were right out there with the players teaching them in a non-threatening way, yet coaching with weight. A funny. At this particular game, Shianne was sitting close by. When Tye was on the sidelines, she made him give her a hug. The coach, "Hey (last name), NO hugging!" We had a good laugh.
Me and my boy.
